Can French dressing replace italian in a pasta salad?

i want to make a small pasta salad for lunch, but have no italian dressing..what to do?..i do have vinegar and oil, but was hoping to use dressing instead.

I would think you could use French if you like the taste – but I personally wouldn’t.
